Your Frequently Asked Questions
Below is a list of our most frequently asked questions. If, after reading, you still have questions or comments, feel free to email us or call.
Who can advertise on HistoricProperties.com?
Real estate agents, homeowners, not-for-profits, or anyone with an older property for sale.
How old does the property have to be?
Properties must be at least 50 years old.
Does it have to be listed on a historic registry or be in a historic district?
No, but we encourage you to include that in your property description.
How often is the website updated?
HistoricProperties.com is updated daily.
What should I include in my description?
We suggest a minimum 3-4 paragraph approach. First include all the architectural details of the property such as hardwood floors, wainscoting, fireplaces and more. Secondly list all the renovations and restorations completed such as updated mechanicals and new systems, newer kitchens and baths, additions and so forth. If you know anything about the history of the property, write a brief paragraph including date built, interesting people or events that took place at property, whether it is included on a registry, and whether it is on a local or national historic district. Lastly, sell the location including proximity to major cities or airports and cultural and scenic attractions of the area.
